This particular project the owners had a beautiful crown and a hand painted design on the ceiling. The
crown had about 20% missing due to possible water intrusion. The ceiling had been very poorly patched
on about 50% of its surface. This patch job had left about 30% of the painting still intact. I would have
loved to see the painting restored but the owners decided to have me repair the original crown and
ceiling. And to also add a smaller crown to boarder the original. After several mock ups of my own
design the owner decide on this example, the owners and I were very pleased with the finished product.
Corbel calls Savannah Ga, its home and here in the historic district, we never go long without a plaster
restoration job. As owner of Corbel I hand pick the plasterers that work for me, they are monitored on
the job and must produce only top quality work. To me plaster is what defines your historic home and
sets it apart from ordinary drywall. Plaster restoration has become my passion. True plaster is vanishing
at an alarming rate and once it is gone it will be difficult to bring back, but not impossible. We at corbel
can save and restore as much of your old plaster as possible, and where not possible we can fill in with
new plaster using traditional methods. This includes all flat surfaces and all styles of crown. We also can
take damaged medallions or corbels, and if provided with enough of the original to work with. We can
rebuild, install and bring back the unique historic design that was chosen so long ago for your home.
Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. Dave
